This blog is dedicated to people who want to apply the reentry & transition planning process described in the book: Reentry& Transition Planning Circles for Incarcerated People by Lorenn Walker & Rebecca Greening.
The Circle process applies basic public health learning principles and combines restorative justice with solution-focused practices. It was originally developed and piloted in Hawai'i prisons and has spread to different states and other countries are also interested in it.
John Braithwaite from Australia first gave Lorenn the idea for using restorative justice for transition planning, which she did when developing the E Makua Ana Youth Circle process used in Hawai'i for foster youth transitioning into adulthood. Papers on how the Circle process works for foster and homeless youth are available on Lorenn's website: www.lorennwalker.com
Please post any questions you have here about the Circle process.
